Liesl
Pronounced: LEE-zul (yes, like the eldest daughter in The Sound of Music)
I’m half Giant Schnauzer and half Standard Poodle — both German breeds so my mom introduces me as “a good German girl with a name to match.”
I’m clever, intuitive, loyal, and athletic. Cheese is my weakness but even its deliciousness can’t keep me from my duties as the guard of those I love.
Learn about my breeds, natural instincts, loves/not-so-loves, training, and personality as you follow our adventures.
See you on the trail. I’ll be the one splashing in the creek!
Ruthie
Pronounced: ROO-thee (someone from the shelter named me Ruth and that’s how I ended up with my furever-mom)
I was living on the streets of Philly, PA when some nice people picked me up. It took me a while to learn that I didn’t have to raid the garbage to survive.
I’m Great Pyrenees, Komondor and a tiny bit of some ancient breed that no one’s ever heard of (thanks DNA testing). All my ancestors were Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGDs) and did important work to protect their herds.
See you on the adventure trail. I’ll be the one walking calmly and keeping an eye out for trouble.
